teaser for virtual gallery friedrich zettl 奥地利画家老蔡

teaser for next exhibition

I’ve been needing a few short video clips for my work for a long time. With a little effort, I was able to get something going myself, but then the result was too boring for me and I left this task to someone else.

The result isn’t perfect, but it has a certain appeal. I think it fulfills the task of a teaser quite well, namely to make the viewer curious – at least I hope so.

Some of these works will soon be shown in the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Beijing. This exhibition has now been postponed for the third time because of Corona. Not a big problem for me, since I won’t be flying there anyway, but some of the accompanying activities also have to be rescheduled and that takes time and effort.

This teaser gives the impression that these are large-format paintings, but they are works on paper that are shown in passe-partouts in a real exhibition, so they are much smaller. But it’s a teaser.

The video is just right–not boring. I like the sweeping presentation and the music works to mentally pace the video.

Thank you very much! Yes, it generally is ok, I think. I am not good in marketing my own stuff so I thought of a few clips.

Thank you! You are very kind.

I enjoyed the video: I felt it was well paced and I found the images engaging. Best of luck. We are swimming against a strong economic current and it’s never easy selling art, anyway.
By the way – I would like this, but the option is very slow to load. Is there too much data on the site?

    1. Zettl Friedrich avatar

Thank you very much! I was not aware that there are problems with loading. I will check again. As for selling art works, yes, sure, but this part is not important for me.

This is wonderful — partly because now I can see the size of your work! Very very beautiful. Congratulations.

    1. Zettl Friedrich avatar

Thank you Martha! However, as far as the size of the pictures is concerned: one can buy them in this size as prints – also on canvas – but the originals are small, mostly A3. But yes, they look quite good that big on a gallery wall.

They look amazing like that. Very powerful images.

Thank you Martha! The power of course comes from the mind. Now that I enjoy more of Zen I see more kinds of power.

Brilliant execution of your trailer! Showcasing art displayed on gallery walls is often tricky – constrained by the dimensions of the art as well as the gallery space, and capturing the “flow” within a gallery is a challenge and I think your teaser overcomes those constraints admirably. Plus your art is stunning.

Thank you very much for your kind words! I’m glad to hear that you like teaser and my pictures. Yes, the flow is an important part when hanging the pictures. It always takes me a lot of time to be satisfied with this part.

Dear Sunnyside and Friedrich Zettl 狐胡,

Hello! I submitted a long comment to both of you on 7 May 2022 at 8:23 pm to Sunnyside’s blog post entitled “Georges Braque: L’église de Carrières-Saint-Denis (1909)“, and since I am not sure whether the comment has been getting through, I am repeating that comment here as follows:

I often have a particular affinity with the abstraction depicted in Georges Braque’s paintings. This one reminds me of one of my large quartz clusters on display in my living room.

It seems that we have a number of things in common, namely, our love of art, and perhaps even our promoting other artists, either by championing them and/or critiquing their works. Also, as a lover, collector, composer and connoisseur of art and music, I like to think about and comment on art when time permits and circumstance prevails. You can see an example in the multimedia post of mine promoting the works of John Clinock is entitled “🦅 SoundEagle in John Clinock’s Art Rat Cafe 🎨🖼“, in which I have made a detailed analysis on the techniques used in abstract painting. The direct link is available at

      https://soundeagle.wordpress.com/2013/01/06/soundeagle-in-john-clinocks-art-rat-cafe/

In addition, I often explore the intersections of art and science, of public and private spaces, of the cultural and the technological. Whilst I concede that technology offers enormous unexplored potential allowing emerging artists to express themselves in unprecedented ways, I do have certain concerns and caveats regarding science “reproducing” reality and artists representing it. In a special post entitled “🎧 Facing the Noise & Music: Playgrounds for Biophobic Citizens 🏗🌁🗼“, I have endeavoured to give a very good inkling of the kind of society that humans might be heading towards.

The two posts can be easily located from the Home page of my blog.

Happy Sunday to both of you, and is the Mother’s Day of 2022!

      Yours sincerely,
      SoundEagle

Friedrich: It is no wonder your paintings are being shared all over. Their energy is explicit and rejuvenating. Yes, I will go to China and see this show I’d like to say. But alas, I will admire the inspiring details from here. Thank you for moving in the direction of your dreams. We are all benefitting. ❤️

    1. Zettl Friedrich avatar

Thank you Carolyn! Your kind words mean a lot to me. There are many ways to share dreams and doing it with brushes and paint fits best for me. At the same time I am happy when others join. All the best 💗
